Turn any Candle into an Electric Candle

Recently, one of the biggest stories in the world of candles is the chemical residue and black soot given off by burning candles. There is one way to alleviate this problem completely. Do not burn your candles. That’s right—never put the match to the wick. Instead, get one of those electric cup warmers or buy a candle warmer and place your jar candle on top of it. In a few short steps you have brightened up the room with the aroma coming from your electric candle.

The Benefits of Using an “Electric Candle”

One of the most obvious benefits to using an electric candle in this way is that you no long have to worry about breathing in chemical residue from the burning paraffin. Because paraffin is a petroleum-based product, there are chemicals released when the wick is lit. In fact, some studies have shown that the more soot there is when a candle is burning, the more particulate matter pollutes your indoor air.

The answer is to set your favorite candle on a warmer and create an electric candle that releases no soot into the air; therefore, no particulates. Additionally, many offices do not look favorably upon burning candles on the premises because of the fire hazard. However, with an electric candle, you can get the benefits of your favorite scents without the concerns of accidentally setting a fire.

Additional Tidbits

An electric candle may be created for little more than the cost of a cup or candle warmer, and the price of your favorite candle. Cup or candle warmers usually run about fifteen dollars and are as reusable as any electrical appliance. A good candle, such as Salt City, runs about twenty dollars for the large jar. Once you have everything together, just plug in the warmer, take the lid off of the candle and place it on the base and wait.

Some companies, especially those that deal in all-natural candles like soy or beeswax often manufacture wickless candles that are specifically made to become a part of an electric candle. Should you choose to use one of these types of candles, you will benefit by enjoying the same long-lasting aroma while exposing yourself to even less particulate matter because the candles are made of all-natural ingredients like soy and beeswax.

If breathing in particulate matter concerns you, then stop the practice by creating and using an electric candle. If you still have concerns, then purchase only the all-natural wickless candles that are designed for this purpose, and breathe deeply knowing that you are breathing in only aroma and no particulate matter from the melting wax on your electric candle.
