Clean Burning Candles Can Drastically Cut Down the Time You Spend on Your Housekeeping Chores

You would be surprised at just how much your candles contribute to the overall dinginess of the surfaces in your house. Candle soot is a large contributor to the dust in your home and can give the light surfaces a nasty grey film. Clean burning candles were invented to produce less soot, so this was not as much of a problem.

Now, nearly all major candle producers make some sort of “sootless” candle. The companies that specialize in heavily scented candles are beginning to get with the program.

This is a good idea, because people generally burn candles for the scent, and the more scent a candle produces, the less candles you will burn, therefore, less soot. If the highly scented candles produce less soot, then your home will, ultimately be less dusty.

You may be thinking, “I burn a lot of candles, I wonder if I have a soot problem.” An easy way to test for this problem is to take a damp cloth and rub the aluminum part of your windows. If the cloth is black and the rest of the window sill looks darker or dingy, you have a soot problem. With a thorough cleaning and switching to candles that burn cleaner, your home will stay sparkling, longer.
